SUID and MyESF

SUID

  • As an ESF international student, the first thing your should do after you settle down is to obtain your Syracuse University I.D. card (SUID). The SUID contains a series of numbers that are issued ONLY TO YOU.
  • Your magnetic stripe on one side of your ID card has special functions and enables access to various campus facilities including Food Services, dining facilities, University residence halls, some academic buildings (e.g. department building and libraries), recreational facilities (e.g. gyms), the Schine and Dome box office, and vending machines.
  • To obtain your new SUID, you should first activate your syr.edu email address (AKA netID) at netID.syr.edu, then send your picture (no more than 2MB) in JPEG format to hoursing.syr.edu and indicate your status (ESF/SU and undergrad/grad) in your email. (Note: your netID is required for several SU/ESF online systems: myslice, Blackboard and MyEsf)
  • Requirements of the photo are listed as followed:
    • a high-quality, color photo under a plain background
    • a front view of your whole face
    • should be taken within the last three months
    • should be taken without a hat or dark glasses

MyEsf

  • Visit Myesf.esf.edu to register for a new account using your netID.
  • Update your address information and your personal profile at MyEsf.
  • Fill out graduate forms through MyEsf.
  • You can also view and pay your semester bills, view course schedule and grade report through MyEsf.
